Blackmill started of producing music at the age of 8 when he received his first musical instrument for his birthday – an Acoustic Guitar which he still plays to this day so look out for future tracks in this genre. At the age of 15 he started producing trance and uploading them to youtube under the alias “Robert J.C” As Dubstep grew throughout 2010 Blackmill took a shine to this new genre. Blackmill was quickly producing his own version of Dubstep, Melodic Dubstep. It’s been proven to be a hit after he remixed Ellie Gouldings “Your Song” which took off straight away. Today, I bring you his new song ‘My Love’. It’s amazing.

KATFYR (pronounced “catfire”) is an electronic music project from Lisbon, Portugal.

Formed in late 2008 by JayJay (Oxid Project), KATFYR quickly assumed its position in the Portuguese electronic music scene thanks to a particularly powerful – yet intricate and melodic – sound and equally electrifying live performances.

Sporting a very distinct style that includes aggressive bass lines and powerful beats, covering genres like electro, maximal, nu-disco and dubstep (just to name a few), KATFYR’s productions, sets and lives transmit a visceral surge of energy which transcends social boundaries.

With a repertoire that already includes official remixes for well-known artists such as autoKratz and Celldweller, regular airplay on national radios and a massive international debut alongside Crystal Castles at the prestigious Trump Room in Tokyo last January, KATFYR is currently undergoing the completion of its debut album which will be out in early 2011.
